Hand carved, with anthropomorphic (human figurative) relief detail on the mortar, used by shaman for grinding herbs and other substances for ritual and medicinal purposes. This piece has a beautiful patina and is in excellent condition consistent with age and wear. An old tool, now an intriguing art piece.
