Hand Rubbed Finish
Our hand rubbed oil finish is an extremely durable finish that richens the wood grain and color of our tables more than a clear top coat. Overall the look and feel of this finish option is soft, low sheen, and when you touch or rub the slab table you feel like you are truly connecting with the natural essence of the wood. The hand rubbed finishes we use are plant based 0-VOC products that incorporate 2-part hardeners to increase durability. The catalyzed 2-part hard wax oil finish utilizes molecular bonding to adhere to the wood on a cellular level, rather than forming a thick film on the top layer. This is an easy to clean finish option that can be spot fixed or repaired if need be, and there are a variety of wood creams and maintenance oils that can be purchased if a quick easy refresh is desired.
Raw Finish
Do you enjoy the raw look of a piece of wood before it has sealers or finishes applied to it that richen the color, but still want protection from stains and water marks? Our 2-part high traffic ultra-matte sheen clear coat is designed to do just that...While it is just like the satin and matte clear coats in the fact that it is a catalyzed water-based polyurethane that was developed in Sweden and is one of the most durable clear Low-VOC finishes on the market.The ultra-matte option has additional elements that keep each slab of wood as light in color as possible while still showing its natural colors. No grain or color richening occurs with this finish option, and each slab will look lighter in color than you currently see in our photos or online store as it will first be sanded, and then the raw color will be locked in with the ultra-matte option.In addition to being exceptionally durable, offering superior resistance to scuffs, scratches, and chemicals, we have a labor intensive procedure for spraying thin coats and buffing in-between each coat that gives this commercial grade finish a fine furniture feel.
Matte Finish
Our 2-part high traffic matte sheen clear coat is a catalyzed water-based polyurethane that was developed in Sweden and is one of the most durable clear Low-VOC finishes on the market. In addition to being exceptionally durable, offering superior resistance to scuffs, scratches, and chemicals, we have a labor intensive procedure for spraying thin coats and buffing in-between each coat that gives this commercial grade finish a fine furniture feel. A medium amount of natural grain and color richening is part of choosing the high traffic matte sheen clear coat for your table.
Pre-Oiled With Matte Finish
A unique combination of techniques... For the customer who wants the grain and color richening effects of a hand rubbed finish, but the raw look, feel, and commercial durability of an ultra-matte clear coat. We first do a hand rubbed oil finish, and after a week of curing we proceed with the sprayed coats of the ultra-matte finish. All of the natural colors of the piece of wood will be enhanced as much as possible using the oil first but without the use of added stains. Then the ultra-matte clear coat is applied which gives the slab a zero reflection raw look but with richer grain and color.As with our other sprayed finish, the ultra-matte is a 2-part high traffic clear coat that is a catalyzed water-based polyurethane, developed in Sweden, and is one of the most durable clear Low-VOC finishes on the market.
