Description

Wearable Happi Coat, constructed of stone washed canvas and early 20th century hand painted indigo batik fabric from the Hmong people of Norther Laos.

In the past few years one of David's passions has been incorporating ancient textiles into wearable contemporary clothing.
The pattern for this jacket was inspired by the old Japanese happi coats that are traditionally worn during summer festivals, over street clothes.
And the recycled patches come from early 20th century hand painted indigo batik fabric from the Hmong people of Norther Laos, originally done on cotton.
Hand made one of a kind item, size fits most.
