Muromachi period (1392 - 1573), ceramic pot with antique pox. The Muromachi period is characterized by a shift from heavily imported Chinese wares to a  locally made "wabi-sabi" aesthetic, which highlights rustic imperfection, natural glazes, and the rise of Japanese tea ceremony wares.
This pot is approx 600 years old, and is a very very early representation of the developement of the Japanese Wabi Sabi aesthetic, a truly special piece.
