Spectacular hand carved solid stone reclining Buddha.
Carved by a master stone carver from Java, Indonesia. Excellent quality carving from a very hard basalt granite like stone, this small table top size sculpture has exquisite details and proportions.
Even though this is a relativly contemporary carving, 20-40 years old, it is very hard to find this quality anymore as the newer generations of stone carvers from central Java do not have the time or skill level to do pieces like this anymore.
